Just finished these beautiful Amazonite earrings! The stones were collected in Jefferson County, Colorado and polished here by our lapidary artist. The Amazonite is of the most desirable shade of blue-green and displays a beautiful “schiller” flash in the light. These will look incredible in the sunlight! The settings were designed and fabricated from scratch here in our studio. These are ready to be worn with these durable Sterling Silver ear wires.
There are many varieties of feldspar that exhibit a “Schiller” effect such as adularia and labradorite! Colorado Amazonite is a type of microcline feldspar, and when it’s polished it flashes as much as any other feldspar! And the blue color combined with the hardness of the stone make it a superior stone to the popular blues like turquoise! That’s my opinion anyway, these pieces of jewelry are made to hold up to the toughest of lifestyles! And the stones are tough too!
