Presenting another creation in the Colorado Collection! It is Smoky Quartz from Jefferson County, CO set in Colorado silver! The Smoky Quartz was mined on our claim and polished by our stone cutter here in Colorado! The setting was fabricated from scratch using silver sourced from Prospector’s Gold & Gems. My buddy David sources Colorado placer gold that is naturally an alloy of 5-20% silver, he separates it and gets pure Colorado gold for his coins and offers me some of the Colorado Silver for my jewelry. If necessary for the piece I’m making he makes a sterling alloy and rolls it into wire and plate for me to fabricate my jewelry.
