Colorado Amazonite and silver pendant

Description

This is a hand fabricated silver pendant featuring a bright blue Amazonite from Crystal Bed Gulch, Jefferson County, CO! The stone is a freeform cabochon polished by hand here in our studio. The setting is made with .999 fine and .925 sterling silver, and was designed and fabricated from scratch in our studio in Conifer, CO!

Amazonite may look like turquoise, but is much harder and takes a better polish. This Amazonite also exhibits a schiller or adularescent effect, and it especially shines in sunlight! Colorado is famous for producing the highest quality Amazonite specimens found anywhere in the world. It’s not often you see it polished and used in jewelry, though in my mind that’s the perfect use for it!
